The prize of $10,000 was awarded to “Tinkers,” by Paul Harding for ” a powerful celebration of life in which a New England father and son, through suffering and joy, transcend their imprisoning lives and offer new ways of perceiving the world and mortality.”
Only one author of Indian origin – Jhumpa Lahiri – has won the Pulitzer for her debut short story collection ‘Interpreter of Maladies’ in 2000.
