This one’s from Research in Motion, the Canadian maker of the BlackBerry smartphone. Which, if you recall, was in trouble for offering services (through their phones) which did not address government’s security concerns.
Once bitten, twice shy, now the PlayBook – RIM’s tablet PC, will be
fully compatible with the special servers that corporations and governments now used to control and monitor employees’ BlackBerry devices.
So assured Michael Lazaridis, R.I.M.’s co-chief executive, when he introduced the tablet computer recently at a developers conference in San Francisco.
