All of us know someone who buys books online in the belief that they are cheaper. Perhaps some of us buy online. But are we deluding ourselves that they are cheaper than buying them offline?
A report in the Sydney Morning Herald covers this issue:
Seven out of the 10 books on the Australian bestsellers list are cheaper if bought in an Australian bookshop or locally online compared to buying them from a discount offshore website.
The findings put a small dent in the belief that everything can be purchased cheaper online.
Time to do some legwork, eh? That’s the crux of the problem, though. Time doesn’t come by cheap! 24 hours just doesn’t seem enough.
What do you say?
