Young Authors meet at JustBooks, Kalidasa Road Library, Mysore

JustBooks Kalidasa Road, Mysore had a get together of authors in the making recently. It was attended by JustBooks members, young and old alike.

Dr Niranjan Vanalli, Dept Head, Mysore University addressed the gathering. He recommended that authors in the making ensure that their published books get registered with the ISBN issuance authorities. This would ensure that their books would get a much wider audience. Dr. Vanalli also touched upon the importance of observation and the role of using one’s imagination to write. He mentioned that in his experience, he has come across many writers who are self motivated. Dr. Vanalli referred to a book written by him on creative writing which he urged the attendees to read and gain confidence to write.

The gathering was also addressed by JustBooks Manager in Charge, Ms. Poornima V Kumar who spoke on the importance of cultivating a reading hobby.

Jothsana who has written the book ‘An Egyptian Code’ ( a thriller aimed at children) spoke about her experience in writing her book , followed by a book signing session. Attendees present interacted with this young author. Some JustBooks members – Rahul, in particular – spoke on gaining a new found motivation to write soon.

All in all, the interactive event was a wonderful experience and acknowledged by all JustBooks members and other attendees.

  1. Hi sujatha

  2. An excellent initiative by Justbooks. It was very well conducted and there were lots of take aways for the audience. The library should organize more such activities for the members. A fortnightly book club will be great!!
