Old is truly gold

To commemorate World Elder’s Day, a Drawing and Painting Competition was conducted by Vidyaranyapura Dignity Foundation Coffee Chavadi. JustBooks, Vidyaranyapura supported this initiative of remembering grandparents and expressing love, affection and respect towards elders in yet another form of expression i.e. Arts.

Collectively, 33 children took part in the completion under juniors and seniors category. While the theme of the contest was ‘Grandparents’ quite a few children were accompanied by their grandparents. More than 100 people attended the prize distribution function which was held on the day of Gandhi Jayanthi. Elders were surprised and pleased by the expression of emotion in the form of art. While four prizes were given under each category, all participants were given a certificate of participation as a gesture of encouragement. There was skit involving children and Diginity Foundation members in which a member of Dignity Foundation Mr. DM Rao enacted as Gandhiji giving few important messages to children in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi.

Below are some photographs ( albums here & here) taken of the prize distribution:

Kudos to JustBooks Vidyaranyapura & Dignity Foundation for their zeal!
